BREAKING: PDP’s Asue Ighodalo complies with INEC’s directive, declares campaign closed

The governorship candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, in the Edo State election, Asue Ighodalo, has officially declared his campaign activities closed.

Ighodalo made this declaration in a statement issued on Thursday by Erhabor Emokpae, on behalf of the Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO).

This announcement comes minutes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the end of campaigns in the state.

According to Emokpae, all campaign activities had ceased as of September 19, 2024.

He said, “We would like to inform the general public that the current campaign has been officially concluded Ighodalo and consequently directed that no activity in this regard should exceed midnight, Sept. 19.”

Emokpae added that after the announcement, any publication, advertisements, jingles, or any other promotional materials made in respect of the subject matter does not the blessing, endorsement or authorisation of Ighodalo or all that is associated with him in respect of same.

He also advised party members, and supporters of the Edo PDP governorship candidate to adhere to the declaration made by the team.

He added, “Therefore, Ighodalo will not be liable or held responsible for any consequences arising from any further campaign or promotional activities or communications conducted after the campaign’s official closing time and date.”
