The presidential campaign spokesperson for Peter Obi, Yunusa Tanko, and the Labour Party National Legal Adviser, Kehinde Edun, have confirmed that the former Anambra governor’s legal team may file an appeal at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
POLITIC NIGERIA reports that this appeal comes in response to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s dismissal of Obi’s petition challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu at the 2023 presidential election.
Tanko told reporters that the appeal had not yet been filed but that it would be filed between now and Tuesday. He also said that Obi had no plans to change members of his legal team.
“I just confirmed that we have not filed the appeal. That will be done between now and Tuesday.
“We are also not seeking to engage or tweak our team of lawyers,” Tanko said.
Recall that Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, after the tribunal ruling against his petition, had vowed to challenge the judgment at the Supreme Court.
