A fire outbreak occurred on Wednesday, involving Mobil Petrol Station in Mushin area of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that eye-witnesses’ account said emergency responders are at the scene, at Agege motor road, Idioro, Mushin.
The fire spread to a building beside the petrol station.
Authorities say the fire outbreak happened when one tanker trying to offload its content exploded around 1pm.
This newspaper cannot yet ascertain if there are casualties.
Media reports showed that between 2019 and 2021, Nigeria experienced severe fire incidents, leading to 79 deaths out of 68 fires recorded in 18 months.
Also, statistics from the Federal Fire Service (FFS) indicates that between 2020 and 2021, a total of 4,541 calls were made to the agency nationwide and 378 rescue emergencies were recorded.
