Petroleum marketers under the aegis of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), covering Oyo and Osun States, are currently holding a critical meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to discuss the potential review of the current petroleum pump price.
The meeting is currently ongoing at the IPMAN Secretariat, located at Odo-Ona, off the Ibadan-Abeokuta expressway.
The meeting is in response to circulating reports suggesting a significant change in the pump price of petroleum products, particularly Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
There are conflicting projections regarding the new petrol price. Some sources suggest a possible reduction to N557 per litre, while other stakeholders are forecasting a substantial increase to N1,226 per litre.
The outcome of the meeting is highly anticipated, as any decision made could have significant implications for consumers and the broader economy.
