Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Chairman of the APC in Plateau State, Mr Rufus Bature, presented the party’s membership card to the governor on Friday in Jos.
Speaking at the event, Mutfwang said his decision to join the APC was taken in the best interest of Plateau State.
He assured residents that his administration would remain inclusive despite the change in party affiliation, urging the people of the state to remain united.
“The journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and I believe Plateau will reap the dividends of this union,” the governor said.
“I know there are skeptics, but I ask for patience. Time will reveal everything. To the fearful, I say take courage and fear no more because we have come for good.
“We have come to join hands and work together. For those who may be apprehensive, I say relax,” he added.
Mutfwang also expressed gratitude to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his former party, for providing him with a platform throughout his political career.
He said the defection would further motivate him to deliver quality leadership to the people of Plateau State.
The governor thanked President Bola Tinubu for what he described as his deep love for Plateau State and pledged to support the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
