BREAKING: Police Fire Teargas at Protesters Waving Russian Flag

Operatives of the Nigerian Police have fired teargas at young persons who have taken to the streets in Kaduna.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the protesters waved Russian flags, chanting in Hausa, “Hunger is killing us.”

The use of Russian flags by the protesters has sparked fears of external interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs.

The government has warned against allowing enemies of democracy to use the protests to promote an unconstitutional agenda.

The protesters, who are part of the #EndBadGovernance movement, defied President Bola Tinubu’s appeal to halt their actions and dialogue with his government.

The president had made the appeal in his nationwide broadcast on Sunday, urging the protesters not to allow enemies of democracy to use them to promote an unconstitutional agenda.

“Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. The economy is recovering; Please, don’t shut out its oxygen. Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years, do not let the enemies of democracy use you to promote an unconstitutional agenda that will set us back on our democratic journey. FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER!” Tinubu had said.
