The Nigerian police have disclosed that the autopsy on the body of singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, professionally known as MohBad, has been concluded.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced the development on social media, writing, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting result…”
MohBad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, after allegedly being treated for an infection. His death has been surrounded by controversy, with many calling for the cause to be uncovered.
The police recently launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death, following a directive from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun. A ten-man team, including a pathologist, was placed to exhume and investigate Mohbad’s death.
In October 2022, MohBad accused his former manager, singer Naira Marley, of assault and stated that Marley had ordered people to beat him up after he announced his intention to hire a different manager.
After MohBad’s death, it was reported that he had filed a police report in June 2023 alleging that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, a music promoter nicknamed “Sam Larry” and a known associate of Marley’s, had assaulted him and destroyed some of his property. In the report, MohBad said that Larry had interrupted a video shoot, leading a group of 15 men armed with firearms and cutlasses.
