BREAKING: Police storm Ex-NDDC MD’s Port Harcourt Residence

Operatives of the Nigerian Police on Thursday stormed the Port Harcourt residence of Joy Nunieh, the immediate past acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the police officers invaded Nunieh’s house situated at 3, Owuru Creek view, off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday morning.

It was gathered that the police are preventing her from leaving to Abuja in order to appear before House of Reps Committee hearing on NDDC probe over alleged corruption. This newspaper understands that the “invading “Mobile Police claimed they are from Mopol 19.”

But it was gathered that Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, went to Nunieh’s house to intervene on behalf of the former NDDC boss. The governor, however,  left with her for government house, Port Harcourt.

Reacting, Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, said he was unaware of any police siege on Numieh’s Old GRA home.

Recall that the Nunieh had accused Akpabio of fraudulent practices. She explained that Akpabio plotted her removal and that the minister wanted to use her as a tool for committing fraudulent acts within the NDDC.

She said also said that the former governor threatened to sack her from the day of her inauguration as the managing director of NDDC.
