BREAKING: Popular Rapper, AKA shot dead [PHOTOS]

The city of Durban, South Africa was rocked by a tragic event on Friday night, as local police sources confirmed the death of rapper Kiernon ‘AKA’ Forbes in a drive-by shooting.

AKA, who was widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most successful musicians, was shot and killed outside the Wish Restaurant in Durban.

In addition to AKA, another person, believed to be the rapper’s bodyguard, was also shot and injured in the incident. A third individual, who was said to be a close friend, was also killed in the shooting. The identity of this person has not yet been released by authorities.

According to eyewitness accounts, two cars pulled up outside the Restaurant just before 10pm on Friday night and opened fire. The area has since been cordoned off and a thorough investigation into the incident has been launched.

Patrons at nearby restaurants reported that they were stunned by the events that took place. Many of them had known AKA personally, and they spoke of their sadness and shock at his untimely death.

Garrith Jamieson, a spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, confirmed that Florida Road was closed off following the shooting, and that two people had been confirmed dead. Amongst the deceased was a “famous rapper,” he said.

AKA was known for his unique style and powerful lyrics, which resonated with audiences across South Africa and beyond. He had been due to perform at a Durban nightclub, YUGO, as part of his birthday celebrations, according to social media posts. However, those celebrations were cut short by the tragic events that took place on Friday night.

His demise has left a hole in the South African music scene, and many fans and friends are mourning his loss.

    I asked, how will you feel when only you is the one living happily while others are suffering and you go to church, you go to mosque, you pray to God with all these wickedness expecting God to answer your prayer? No sir, no ma’am.
    Change from your wicked ways and turn to God. Give us new Naira note or allow us to use the old pending when you have enough of the new one. I rest my case .
