BREAKING: Presidency speaks on blocking Aides from entering Aso-Rock after Kyari’s Burial

The Nigerian Presidency has reacted to reports that some of its aides were blocked from entering the Villa on Saturday after attending the funeral ceremony of the former Chief of staff, Abba Kyari.

NCDC officials/pallbearers that attended Kyari’s funeral failed to observe proper disposal of PPE Suits and other materials used for the burial alongside violations of the social distancing rule by burial attendees led to the incident.

Security officials at the Presidential villa blocked all access to staff that attended the funeral urging them to self isolate for 2 weeks inline with NCDC guidelines. Reacting on the development, Presidential aide, Garba Shehu tweeted on Sunday;

“There is nothing extraordinary about those of us who attend Abba Kyari’s funeral being advised to distance ourselves from the Villa. This is in line with the standard rules put in place by the National Center for Disease Control, @NCDCgov and the Federal Ministry of Health. You do these things to stop the spread of #Coronavirus.”
