The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Monday, began the demolition of illegal shops and other structures around the popular Area 1 Shopping Complex.
The demolition, which was carried out by the FCTA development control unit, was to give the area a new look.
According to the FCTA, the move was also to improve traffic flow within the busy area.
Traders were seen moving their goods as bulldozers pulled down the shops.
