President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his participation in the 63rd ordinary session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of States and Government held in Guinea-Bissau.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that during the meeting, President Tinubu emerged as the Chairperson of ECOWAS, taking over from President Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
Accepting the responsibility to lead the regional body, President Tinubu expressed expressed his commitment to streamlining frameworks and actively working towards achieving the objectives and aspirations of ECOWAS under his leadership.
As previously reported, President Tinubu embarked on his official journey to Guinea-Bissau on Saturday, July 8, departing from Aso Rock in Abuja.
Confirming the trip, President Tinubu’s special adviser, Dele Alake, assured that the President would return to the country upon the conclusion of the meeting.
