President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after attending the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU) in Nairobi, Kenya.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that during the meeting, Tinubu announced plans to strengthen the ECOWAS Standby Force to deter coups and combat terrorism in the sub-region. He also reaffirmed Africa’s unity and strength while rejecting the notion of a new scramble for Africa.
Tinubu landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 4:20pm.
The president was received by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinnma, former Kano State Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, among others.
Tinubu’s return to Nigeria is met with controversies surrounding his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC recently announced the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
Adamu was the chairman of the party before Tinubu’s trip to Kenya. However, leadership changed hands a few hours ago, and Senator Abubakar Kyari has therefore announced himself as the acting national chairman of the party, citing the party constitution.
What makes you think, he isn’t aware of the happens at APC HQ?
