BREAKING: President Tinubu Set to Convene Council of State Meeting

President Bola Tinubu has summoned an emergency meeting of the Council of State today.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The latest move comes as a response to the country’s current economic woes and the recent wave of protests, which resulted in loss of life and property damage.

The Council of State is an advisory body, made up of the most respected leaders in the country. Members include former Presidents, Chief Justices, current governors, and top federal officials.

This meeting offers an opportunity for honest discussions on the country’s problems and potential solutions. Council members have the opportunity to advise the present government haven navigated economic crises, political upheaval, and social change during their times in government.

The meeting is coming 18 months after the previous one on February 10, 2023, during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari. On that occasion, the council deliberated on pressing national concerns, including the preparations for the 2023 elections, the introduction of the new naira currency policy, and fuel shortages affecting the nation at the time.
