The Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) in Abuja has called on citizens to put the country in their prayers ahead of its final judgment in different petitions challenging President Bola Ahmed’s electoral victory.
The PEPC made the call after reserving its judgement in the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and Atiku Abubakar against Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The PEPC panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani said while parties and Nigerians should “pray for Nigeria”, the judgement date will be “communicated to parties” at a later date.
Justice Stephen Adah, a member of the panel, commended the lawyers for cooperating and filing processes when they should.
His words:
“The court will now at look at what is placed before us, and by the grace of God, we will end well. We thank you all for your cooperation. All of us in Nigerians are prayer warriors so when we go to pray, pray for Nigeria.”
Before then, lead counsel for Abubakar, Chris Uche SAN, urged the court to be the first to nullify a presidential election in Nigeria.
He insisted that INEC’s failure to upload the election results in real-time to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal created room for manipulation of the poll’s outcome.
Uche also urged the court to hold that FCT is not a state as claimed by respondents, adding that Tinubu failed to score 25 per cent of votes in the country’s capital.
The court subsequently adjourned for judgment.
The judiciary should brace up in their own jurisdiction to teach politicians on how to practice true democracy and to base their judgement on the rule of law, and the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and not on technicality. God will guide you to wisdom excel at this critical time of the trial of the judiciary.
The judiciary is at the threshold of delivering Nigeria from crook syndrome, if they stamp their feet on ground to do that which is right and just. Posterity beacons on judiciary to usher in a new Nigeria where justice prevails.
Is now Nigerians will know if there are God fearing judges in the country
The tribunal asked for prayers for the souls that would weep when disappointed for the second time in quick succession.
The works and antics of enemies of democracy and their accomplice shenanigans will gnash teeth once again. And we have anticipated their evil machinations thus ; https://mickykarim.blog/2023/06/19/a-fifth-columnist-showed-charred-face-cheap-shot-at-the-2023-presidential-elections-tribunal
