The Owa-Obokun, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has passed away at the age of 86.
The monarch’s demise was confirmed by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, in a statement in Osogbo, the Oyo state capital.
Prior to the official announcement, there had been growing concern over the health of Oba Aromolaran, who had been indisposed for some time.
In a heartfelt tribute, Chief Fasuyi described the late monarch’s passing as the end of an era.
The tribute reads:
