The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said that dehydration caused his widely reported ‘slump’ at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
Recall POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that Bawa was giving his goodwill message at the National Identity Day celebration when he suddenly stopped speaking.
He was talking about a man the commission arrested in Ibadan, Oyo state, with 116 SIM cards when the incident happened.
Bawa had stopped talking and covered his face with his right palm, saying, “Please, excuse me, I can’t continue.”
On Thursday evening, while speaking on Channels TV Politics Today, Bawa played down fears about his health.
“I’m okay. You can see that I’m okay (speaking to Seun Okinbaloye). There was a bit of dizziness, and I had to excuse myself, and of course I went straight to the hospital where the doctors confirmed to me that everything about me is okay, except for the fact that I’m a bit dehydrated, that I need to take a lot of water.
“So, straightaway from the hospital, I went straight to the office. I’m now back at home,” the EFCC boss said.
