Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, are currently at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the two politicians were seen shaking hands upon meeting.
Other state governors headed to attend the closed-door meeting include Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Dapo Abiodun- (Ogun), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), ABDULLAHI Abba (Kano), Bassey Ottu (Cross River).
Fubara, Wike and the governors are attending a meeting of the Police Council, which is chaired by President Tinubu. Aside from the 36 governors and the Minister of the FCT, the chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) are in attendance.
This comes amid reports of an impeachment threat against the governor.
The two men reportedly fell out less than six months after Fubara’s inauguration.
They have been in the news since the Rivers State House of Assembly began impeachment proceedings against the governor.
Recall that on Monday, Fubara stormed the assembly complex with his loyalists to prevent the lawmakers from carrying out their plan.
