Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio has officially revealed the names of the majority leadership for the Tenth Senate.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that notably, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, has emerged as the Senate Leader.
The list is as follows:
1. Opeyemi Bamidele (South-west)
Senate majority leader
2. David Umahi (South-east)
Deputy majority leader
3. Ali Ndume (North-east)
Senate majority whip
4. Lola Ashiru (North-central)
Deputy majority whip
The media and the public were reportedly denied access to the Senate plenary. Surprisingly, no explanation was provided for this action. Reports have it that a sergeant-at-arms, stationed at the entrance to the gallery where journalists and the public usually observe proceedings, blocked all entry.
