Anambra South Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ubah was the only member of the YPP in the present Senate.
Ubah’s defection was announced on the floor of the Senate on Thursday by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
In a letter to Akpabio, Ubah said his defection was due to irreconcilable differences within the YPP.
After reading the letter, the senate president directed Ubah be given a new seat.
Ubah’s defection to the APC increases the party’s majority in the Senate to 60 members. The number of political parties represented in the Senate is now down to six.
Not surprised. It is only in Nigeria that a man clambs up a height with a ladder and willfully destroy the ladder or push it off and label it useless even when he’s on the top. What a group of ungrateful generation of principleless humans.
