Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in respect of the 2023 election, on Monday received a former Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau into the party.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were all present in Kano State to receive Shekarau who left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) just two months after joining them from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shekarau, the lawmaker representing Kano Central, was a former Nigerian minister of education and two-term Governor of Kano.
He was one of the candidates who aspired to become president in the Nigerian general elections of 2011.
