In the wake of the devastating attacks in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos local government areas of Plateau State, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured affected communities that justice would be pursued vigorously until the victims find solace and safety.
During his visit to the crisis-stricken areas, Senator Shettima, representing the President, commiserated with the people and government of Plateau State, expressing profound sorrow over the recent killings that shook the region.
His words: “When one community bleeds, the entire nation feels the pain. The pain we feel now transcends ethnicity or religion, geography or politics. The grief that binds us is a testament to our shared humanity, not differences.”
He conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s deep sorrow, stating, “This tragedy and shares deeply shake the President in this unspeakable sorrow that has shattered the joy of Christmas across the country.”
He acknowledged the immense pain of burying loved ones, recognizing the unbearable grief faced by the affected communities.
“This tragedy is a funeral for the entire nation. Our hearts bleed alongside yours, our dear brothers and sisters in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi, and all over Plateau State,” the Vice President added.
To me, there is no justice when someone is killed since it can’t restore his life.
