BREAKING: Smart Adeyemi to Appeal Judgement on Kogi APC Primary Election

Smart Adeyemi, a former lawmaker representing Kogi West, has vowed challenge the outcome of the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that produced Ahmed Usman Ododo as the party’s candidate in the state.

Adeyemi said he was dissatisfied with the verdict given on Wednesday, July 12, by a Federal High Court in Abuja which upheld the primary election.

The former lawmaker has revealled plans to challenge the court’s judgement at the Court of Appeal.

In his view, the trial court failed to properly evaluate the proof of evidence that was placed before it by the parties, insisting that there were inconsistencies in the report that was tendered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the affidavit presented by the APC.

According to him, although INEC claimed that option A4 mode was adopted for the primary election it monitored, the APC told the court that the election was through secret ballot.
