Governors in the Southern part of Nigeria met on Tuesday evening to discuss the current spate of Insecurity in the Country.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the governors, under the umbrella of the Southern Nigeria Governors Forum held the meeting virtually and it was attended by 15 out of 17 of them.
Governors in attendance include; Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, David Umahi of Ebonyi amongst others.
The meeting was also attended by the Ekiti State Governor who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), and Lolo Cecilia Ezeilo (deputy governor of Enugu) Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (Abia), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).
The governors called for unity and commitment in dealing with the issues affecting the country particularly Southern Nigeria. They also called for increased efforts in maintaining peace in the region.
