BREAKING: Sulaimanu Baffa, ex-UBA MD, chairman of Jigawa Elders Forum, passes away at 85

A prominent Nigerian figure, Alhaji Sulaimanu Baffa, has passed away at age 85.

Until his death, Alhaji Baffa was the chairman of the Jigawa Elders Forum.

Baffa, known for his illustrious career as the Managing Director of the United Bank for Africa, Union Bank, and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, breathed his last, leaving a void in finance and public service.

He is also a former Permanent Secretary in the Old Kano state and had a remarkable journey that spanned decades.

His leadership and expertise in the banking sector earned him a stellar reputation. At the same time, his pivotal role as Chairman of the Jigawa State Elders Forum showcased his commitment to improving his community.

Throughout his life, Alhaji Baffa dedicated himself to public service, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals.

Paying tribute to him, Mustapha Sule Lamido, Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Jigawa during the 2023 elections, wrote:

”I am saddened by the death of Alh. Sulaimanu Baffa, the Chairman of the Jigawa State Elders Forum and a former Permanent Secretary in the Old Kano State. He was also the former Managing Director of UBA, Union Bank and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company.

”At 85, he had lived a fulfilled life, which has been highly beneficial to the people. I condole his family and the Jigawa State people while also praying for his admittance into Jannatul-Firdaus by Allah (SWT).
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihir Raji’un.”
