The Supreme Court of Nigeria has slated Thursday, October 26, to deliver judgement in the appeals lodged by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Recall that both Atiku and Obi, displeased with the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed their petitions against Tinubu’s election victory, filed appeals at the apex court.
On Monday, a 7-man panel of Justices of the Court led by Justice John Inyang Okoro reserved their judgement and promised to communicate the judgement date to the involved parties.
The Supreme Court’s Director of the Press and Information, Dr Awemeri Festus Akande, has now confirmed the date.
He said adequate security arrangements have been put in place to prevent security breaches both within and outside the court premises on Thursday.
