The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Bassey Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Cross River State.
The apex court affirmed the judgement of the election petition tribunal and Appeal Court, which upheld Mr Otu’s victory after dismissing the petition filed by the PDP candidate, Sandy Onor.
Helen Ogunwumiju, who read the lead judgment, held that the “appeal is without merit, a waste of judicial time and resources”.
