Some bandits have invaded Angwar Danko community in Kakangi, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, forcing dozens to an unknown location through a forest.
A large number of bandits reportedly invaded the community on Wednesday evening, firing shots without control.
Eyewitnesses say that men and women who were abducted by the attackers are currently being marched into the forest.
Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the incident to journalists.
“I just received a call from the area informing me that dozens of my constituents have been abducted. The bandits have surrounded the village, and as we speak, they are still there, taking their victims into the forest. The situation is dire,” he said.
The number of abductees could not be ascertained as at time of writing this report.
ASP Mansur Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, was not available for comments as at press time.
