Armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have stormed the Supreme Court ahead of the highly anticipated judgment in the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that roads leading to the court and the nearby Villa gate were sealed off by DSS personnel, leaving only those deemed “essential” to the proceedings able to pass.
Journalists with official Supreme Court tags were initially turned back without explanation. However, it took the intervention of high-ranking court officials to secure access for news media.
An unmarked security vehicle blocked the main entrance, serving as a makeshift checkpoint where journalists were scrutinised before being allowed entry.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who heads the five-member panel hearing the case, is still being expected at the court.
This judgment will determine whether Kanu, who has been in DSS custody since June 2021, will be released or remain detained.
Let me sounds this as a warning to you guys , if you don’t release Mazi Nnamdi kalu There will be a problem please tell them, the world will be on fire.
We are doing great damages to our future if because of one man case can herald debating on whether journalism should be scrutinized before entering the court house or not. Haba, what is this?
The appeal court has cleared him of all charges but government decides to disobey court order. The supreme court need to do the needful by releasing Nnamdi kanu. The demage has been done even if Kanu is been released cos there are so many groups called unknown gunmen,. Can Kanu persuade them to stop, will they listen to him?. Let’s wait and see if they released him will bring peace because I don’t see Kanu stop his agitation for Biafra
The unconditional release of MNK is all that matters here, let the innocent Man go home and enjoy the Xmas with his beautiful wife and little kids, that’s if the supreme court are not compromised already bcuz I don’t understand what the judiciary system is doing anymore in this country, bcus they’re not encouraging us as the upcoming leaders of this nation…… and secondly if they really love the people of the eastern part of the country also want them to enjoy this festive season in peace they should better do the needful by releasing the man as ordered by the court of appeal since the 13th day of October 2022…. bcus this man has committed no crime known to the law world wide.
