The lawmakers engaged in a shouting match even before the session officially commenced.

The emergency rule, announced by Tinubu on Tuesday, suspends Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months. The move was justified by the president as a necessary step to restore order amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.
As part of the emergency measures, Tinubu appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as the Administrator to oversee the state during this period.
Is River State the first state to experience this in Nigeria,Abati was in this country when it happened in Ekiti during Obasanjo,it also happened during Jonathan government.
