Tijani, a son of the late Oniru of Iruland, Oba Idowu Abiodun, was beaten and stripped on Sunday by Palace guards loyal to the new monarch, Gbolahan Lawal.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that there has been a brewing crisis between the late Oniru’s children and his successor, Lawal over some properties in Oniru, Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the children of the late king continued to maintain control of some of the properties worth billions of naira. They insist that some of the properties belonged to them and not to the royal family.
The issue heightened on Sunday when palace guards attacked Tijani, slapping and almost stripping him naked.
“On Sunday morning, the new Oniru’s boys went about posting public notices on some of the properties but TJ (Tijani) got his boys to beat them up and chase them away. Later in the day, as TJ was making his way into Millennium Estate, the boys regrouped and beat him up.” an eyewitness said.
