BREAKING: Thugs invade Lagos Polling Unit with daggers, disperse voters

Political thugs in their large numbers on Saturday morning invaded Adejare Polling Unit (PU) in Ilasa, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State and dispersed voters who were waiting for officials and adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to start voting for the ongoing governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that INEC officials were nowhere to be found as of 10:12 am, and this left many eligible voters stranded until the thugs invaded the polling unit with daggers and other dangerous objects to disperse them.

“Policemen are also not present. The people have all run away and are not willing to return,” a source said.

This newspaper had also reported how popular Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha was allegedly attacked by thugs at her Polling Unit in Lagos on Saturday.

Taking to her known Instagram handle, the thespian said she had to run for her life after some political thugs came after her with the intent to stab her with knives.

According to her, the side-mirror and other parts of her car were damaged as she fled.
