BREAKING: Tinubu appoints Mohammed Isa as his Senior Special Assistant on disability matters

President Bola Tinubu has authorised the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters.

Mr. Mohammed Abba Isa brings a wealth of experience, boasting over a decade of dedicated advocacy for persons with disabilities, locally and internationally. He is a distinguished champion for the rights and welfare of disabled individuals.

Having obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with honours from the University of Maiduguri, Mr. Isa furthered his academic pursuits. He earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the same institution in 2017.

In a statement, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, disclosed that the President directed the new appointee to foster avenues for inclusivity proactively.

”The President tasks the new appointee to proactively create avenues of opportunity for inclusion through the inculcation of PWD requirements and perspectives in the policies and programmes of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government while working closely with sub-national authorities to build a national consensus on PWD-friendly policy and environmental conditions in collaboration with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD),” he said.

Ngelale also emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring the representation and welfare of disabled individuals, underscoring the administration’s dedication to diversity and inclusivity.
