BREAKING: Tinubu appoints Wike’s ally as CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Emeka Woke as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.

Woke, a close ally of FCT minister Nyesom Wike, previously served as Wike’s Chief of Staff during his tenure as Governor and more recently held the position of Commissioner for Special Projects under Governor Sim Fubara.

The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority plays a crucial role in the management and development of water resources within its jurisdiction, encompassing parts of Ogun and Osun states in southwestern Nigeria.

As CEO, Emeka Woke is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at harnessing the region’s water resources for agricultural, industrial, and environmental purposes, while also ensuring sustainable water management practices.

Tinubu’s decision to appoint Woke is seen as the consolidation of the president’s political alliance with Wike.

Wike is currently at loggerheads with his successor and incumbent governor of Rivers state, Sim Fubara.
