There are strong indications that Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Lagos state head of service, will be named principal private secretary (PPS) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Muri-Okunola (aka HMO) served as Tinubu’s personal assistant between 2003 and 2005 when he was Lagos state governor after which he was appointed as the executive secretary of the land use and allocation committee.
HMO later became permanent secretary in 2011 and was posted to the Lands Bureau in the Governor’s Office.
Muri-Okunola (51 years), the first son of Justice Muritala Okunola, was appointed as head of service in December 2018 when he took over from Folashade Adesoye.
Although some sources say that it is unclear what his job description as PPS will be since the president already has a chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
