BREAKING: Tinubu Will Increase Workers’ Salary to Reduce Hardship – Akpabio

The Senate president, Godswill Akpabio, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu’s government will carryout an upward review of workers’ salaries to mitigate the effect of fuel subsidy removal on citizens.

Akpabio gave the assurance while playing host to Ekiti governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, and members of parliament from the state in his office at the National Assembly.

The senate president assured Nigerians that the federal government was aware of difficulties being faced as a result of fuel subsidy removal.

According to him, fuel subsidy removal was part of present administration’s ways of tackling corruption.

“Nigeria as a country would not have survived the next few years if the fuel subsidy had not been removed”, Akpabio said, stressing that government will have the capacity to pay salaries and wages if reviewed upwards.

In his remarks, Oyebanji lauded the senate president for his achievements in office in the last month.

The governor declared the total support of his people and government to the success of Akpabio’s  tenure as the president of the 10th senate and their readiness to partner with the legislature to move the country forward.
