BREAKING: Tinubu not permitted to attend NEC meeting – Presidency, gives reasons

The Nigerian Presidency has disclosed that the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not be attending the Party’s virtual National Executive Committee meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday.

The NEC meeting was convened by factional acting national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Giadom. Reacting to the development on Wednesday night, Presidential Spokesperson, Bashir Ahmad tweeted that Tinubu will not be attending the meeting because he is not a member of the national executive committee of the party.

“There are some people who need to know that the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party, hence, he doesn’t attend the NEC Meetings. This is very clear!” he wrote.

Bashir’s statement is coming shortly after the NWC of the party alongside members of the party loyal to the Tinubu/Adams Oshiomole faction of the party declined to attend the virtual meeting with the President.

On Wednesday evening, President Buhari declared support for Victor Giadom, backing him as the acting national chairman because ‘the law was on his side’.

  2. The truth is that APC is not a party with good people. Tinubu has failed Yoruba with empty promises of democracy to favour Northerners. These people really betrayed him in big term… What a big lesson… Sir Tinubu, you will need to write a book on your political career for the generation unborn to learn. Its not over yet.
