Unknown Gunmen have killed 5 people in Enugu during separate attacks on polling units in Enugu South and Agbani areas of the state.
It was gathered that the Gunmen also injured several people as they shot sporadically and burnt some vehicles.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the incident occurred as elections for the office of 260 councillors and 17 council chairmen were being conducted by INEC on Wednesday.
Eyewitness reports reveal that the polling units attacked were at Akpugo in Nkwanu West and Obeagu ward III in Enugu South. The criminals also destroyed electoral materials.
“I overheard the gunmen shouting from my hiding that they had warned that there should no longer be elections in any part of the South East,” the source recounted.
