Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s unwavering dedication to eliminating fuel subsidy.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that during his inaugural address on Monday, President Tinubu emphatically announced the end of the subsidy era, emphasising that the 2023 budget did not allocate any funds for fuel subsidy, making further payments unjustifiable.
“The fuel subsidy is a thing of the past,” declared Tinubu at the prestigious Eagle Square on Monday, following his swearing-in as Nigeria’s 16th President.
Addressing State House Correspondents from his office on Tuesday, Vice President Shettima echoed his principal’s position on fuel subsidy removal.
He reiterated Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to improving the lives of the Nigerian people for the next four years.

I think, the government should re-think on fuel subsidy removal. If this is the starting of this new era, it will not speak well, mostly on we that strongly in support of the candidacy.
