Violence has erupted in the Dilimi area of Jos North, Plateau State, following a confrontation between local youths and security personnel.
The incident, which began earlier today, has led to intense clashes, escalating tensions.
Eyewitnesses report that the confrontation started after youths in Dilimi gathered to protest against the curfew imposed by the state government.
The situation quickly deteriorated as security forces, deployed to manage the protest, were met with resistance from the demonstrators.
According to sources, the youths began by blocking major roads and setting up barricades, leading to a standoff with the police and military personnel.
The security forces responded with tear gas and live ammunition in an attempt to disperse the crowds. Reports indicate that several individuals have been injured, although exact numbers are yet to be confirmed.
The Plateau State Government has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
