The Osun State Government has reacted to a viral video making rounds on social media, alleging misrepresentation of the amicable relationship between Governor Ademola Adeleke and the esteemed Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, in a statement, said the video was manipulated and circulated by opposition agents and disseminators of false information to paint an inaccurate picture of the cordial interaction between Governor Adeleke and the revered monarch.
It said the authentic relationship between Governor Ademola Adeleke and HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II was demonstrated through a convivial exchange of pleasantries at the Palace of Osemawe of Ondo during Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla’s coronation.
In response to the video, the state government urged the public to dismiss it entirely, emphasizing its commitment to transparency by making the unaltered original videos available for public scrutiny.
The statement reaffirmed Governor Adeleke’s genuine and harmonious rapport with the Ooni of Ife.
”Governor Ademola Adeleke and Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II enjoy the best of relations as evident by the cordial exchange of pleasantries at the Palace of Osemawe of Ondo at the coronation of Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla.
”We are by this medium appealing to members of the public to disregard the doctored video in its entirety while we have uploaded the original videos for public consumption,” the statement noted.
