Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived at the United Nations (UN) building in New York, the United States, to meet United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
This was disclosed in a short post by the VP’s Senior Special Assistant Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha on his X handle on Thursday evening.
According to Nkwocha, VP Shettima was received by UN Deputy Secretary-General, Ms. Amina J. Mohammed.
He did not, however, disclose the reason behind the meeting of his principal and the UN boss.
The vice president is currently in the United States, attending the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had directed Shettima to lead the Nigerian delegation to the high-level global forum while he focused on addressing pressing domestic issues, including the recent devastating flood disaster.
Politics Nigeria reports that VP Shettima departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja for New York on Sunday, September 22nd.
