Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have said that the dissolution of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party will allow President Muhammadu Buhari to focus on governance.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, made this known to State House correspondents after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa on Friday.
He said that the governors were at the State House appreciate the President for intervening in the leadership crisis rocking the ruling party. Bagudu, however, revealed that the alleged threat by some NWC members to challenge their dissolution in court was a mere media creation.
He said, “Media says a lot of things, but Mr President is very clear that he received due legal advice and remember, before the 2019 primaries, Mr President demonstrated to everyone in this country that he will never sacrifice due process for expediency.
“Even when it was convenient to extend tenure of the then executives so that we don’t have a convention and primary at the same time, Mr President said no, no matter how tough it is, we are going to do the correct legal thing.
“So, Mr President will never do anything which the constitutional provisions of party, talk less of the country, does not allow him to do.”
It was a good decision by the President, all hands should be on deck to move the party ahead and the country.Going to court is not good decision for a good party man
What You think is bad May Eventually not be so, as far as I know His Excellency Saint Alhaji Major General Muhammadu Buhari is concerned, he is still in the right direction..!
