The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has accused his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP of corruption, warning that the interests of his state should not be ‘toyed’ with.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Wike attacked the party over a committee set up to investigate the emergence of Ndudi Elumelu’s emergence as minority leader of the House of Representatives. It will be recalled that Elumelu, from Delta state, was elected minority leader despite strong opposition from the national leadership of the party.
The party leadership wanted Kingsley Chinda to be minority leader. Speaking on the development, wike said;
“The committee set up by the PDP on the illegal emergence of Ndudi Elumelu is the most corrupt committee ever set up by the party,” a statement from the Rivers Government House quoted the governor to have said in Port Harcourt.”
“We thank our worthy son, Austin Opara, for withdrawing from that committee, so that he is not entangled in the illegal activities of the tainted committee.”.
