BREAKING: Yoruba kings storm court house in Benin for Sunday Igboho’s Trial

Some Yoruba monarchs have stormed the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, for the trial of Sunday Igboho, a Nigerian separatist leader.

The monarchs, supporters, and Igboho’s wife, Ropo, are in court, ahead of Igboho’s arrival. Igboho was arrested last Monday at an airport in Cotonou en route to Germany.

He had gone into hiding after he was declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Nigerian secret police had raided Igboho’s house in Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State. DSS arrested some of his associates and recovered some weapons and charms.

POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the monarchs had on Sunday met in Benin Republic over the arrest and detention of Igboho. The unanimously agreed to write a letter to the president of Benin Republic, Patrice Talon, over the freedom fighter’s arrest.
