[BREAKING]Sunday Igboho: Benin Police chase Yoruba Nation supporters out of Court

Police officers in Cotonou , Benin Republic chased supporters of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho out of the court premises today.

Scores of Yoruba nation supporters thronged the the premises of the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, the venue of the hearing of the case against Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

Igboho has been in detention in Benin republic after he was captured at an airport trying to flee to Germany after he was declared wanted by Nigeria’s department of state security, DSS. The court is investigating allegations levelled against Igboho by the Nigerian government.

The court had earlier barred journalists and supporters of Igboho from the courtroom but allowed the agitator’s lawyers and his wife, Ropo, inside the courtroom. POLITICS NIGERIA learned that as at the time of filing this report, proceedings were still ongoing.

Igboho troubles began on July 1, 2021, when operatives of the DSS raided his house in Ibadan and uncovered a huge cache of Arms and ammunition, bloody charms, different communications devices and fake passports.

The operatives killed two of his associates and arrested about 12 of them.
