“Show Nigerians promises you made were no lies” – Ex-Osinbajo’s aide tells Tinubu

Laolu Akande, former spokesman for Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, emphasized on his Channels TV show, Inside Sources, on Friday night that President Bola Tinubu bears a heavier burden than ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

Akande highlighted that Tinubu not only carries the burden of promises but also the weight of truncated hope.

Akande emphasized the need for bold leadership to address the multifaceted challenges, especially in the areas of security and the economy.

He pointed out that President Tinubu’s agenda, titled “Renewed Hope,” reflects the expectations placed on the promises made and stressed the importance of demonstrating that those promises were not mere falsehoods.

In his statement, Akande urged all those in positions of authority, whether in the executive, judiciary, or legislature, to exhibit courage and boldness in addressing the pressing issues facing the nation.

His words: “The burden that President Tinubu is carrying is heavier than that of President Buhari, and it is important that it is said because now President Tinubu is not just carrying the burden of promise; he is carrying the burden of truncated hope.

“And it is good that he has rightly named his agenda Renewed Hope. Nigerians have placed so much expectation on the promises, and now they are wondering how come they believed a lie.

“So, it is up to President Tinubu to show that those promises made were no lies.

“And that is why we are appealing to him today and all those in authority that the government be it executive, judiciary or legislature, it’s important to apply courage and boldness.”
