Briton snubs police invitation over alleged conspiracy against Tinubu

The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that Andrew Wynn, a British national wanted for alleged subversive activities and terrorism financing, has refused to turn himself in for questioning.

Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated on Tuesday, September 3, in Abuja, that Wynn ignored multiple invitations from the police and eventually fled Nigeria to evade arrest.

This announcement contradicts Wynn’s statements during an exclusive interview with Channels Television on Monday, where he claimed he was not on the run and was willing to cooperate with Nigerian authorities.

“I am not aware that I am a fugitive… I am more than happy to talk with the police, whether via WhatsApp, Zoom, or even in person at the Nigerian High Commission in London,” Wynn asserted, denying any wrongdoing.

Despite his assurances, police officials maintain that Wynn has deliberately avoided questioning, raising concerns about his involvement in activities destabilising the Nigerian government.

The situation remains tense as the authorities continue to seek his cooperation.
