President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that his predecessor, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has maintained a safe distance from his government since he left office on May 29, 2023.
President Tinubu made the comment today, January 16, at the launch of a book in honour of Buhari, written by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity when he was in office, Femi Adesina.
He said that Buhari had kept his promise of not interfering in his administration.
Tinubu added that he is the one who has been calling the former president to enquire about his welfare.
“You don’t hear from him either to nominate (for appointments), or intrude on the Cabinet, or complain… Thank you, Muhammadu Buhari, for being who you are.
“You served the country with dedication and uncommon zeal,” President Tinubu said.
