CAC’s Monthly Fitness Walk Keeps Staff Energized, Builds Team Spirit – RG

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) says it is placing a strong focus on the health and well-being of its staff through its monthly fitness walks, which have now become a tradition across its offices nationwide.

Speaking after the latest walk in Abuja on Saturday, the Registrar-General of the Commission, Hussaini Magaji (SAN), said the exercise was introduced to help staff stay healthy, motivated, and connected.

“This is not just about walking,” Magaji said with a smile. “It’s about building a culture of teamwork and wellness. When we come out like this every month, we’re not just exercising our bodies — we’re building stronger relationships and a better working environment.”

He noted that the initiative has had a visible impact on productivity and staff morale, adding that the walk is not limited to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

“From Lagos to Kano, all 38 CAC offices are doing the same thing. It’s catching on, and we’re proud of that,” he said. “We hope other agencies can see the benefit and follow suit.”

Magaji also encouraged Nigerians in general to embrace regular physical activity, saying it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay healthy and focused.

“Exercise lifts the spirit,” he said. “It keeps us energized and helps us handle the pressures of work and life.”

Joining him on the walk was the Chairperson of the CAC Sports Committee, Gloria Essien, who said the fitness walk ties directly into the commission’s agenda for building staff capacity.

“We often talk about professional development, but physical health is just as important,” Essien said. “A healthy workforce is a productive one. These walks help reduce stress, improve focus, and boost morale.”
